The Social Circle Boys Basketball team got back to its winning ways Saturday afternoon, defeating the George Walton Academy Bulldogs 48-37.

The Redskins struggled defensively in the first half, allowing 29 points to the Dogs. George Walton Academy had previously scored 30 points in their Thursday night victory over Mount De Sales. Coach Taylor Jackson challenged the youthful ‘Skins to play with heart and conviction in the second half.

And play with heart and conviction they did. The team came together and stifled the Bulldogs offensive attack, allowing only 8 second half points on 2-24 shooting. Meanwhile, the Redskins began attacking the basket offensively, rather than relying on jump shots. Social Circle took the lead in the fourth quarter and never surrendered it.

Redskins were led offensively by sophomore guard Tyrhell Branch (12 pts), senior forwards CJ Branch and Chief Jennings (both with 8 pts), and sophomore guard KJ Reid (7 pts).

The Redskins (2-1) get back to action on Monday night with a battle at Loganville High at 4pm.
