A tough break for the home team Redskins as the visiting Providence Christian Academy Storm blitzed their way to a victory.

The first quarter was all Storm, as turnovers plagued the shell-shocked Redskins. Youth and inexperience showed its face, and Providence Christian held a 19-8 lead after the first.

The Redskins found grit and toughness in the second quarter, however. Led by tenacious defense and a patient offense, Social Circle managed to close the gap and make it a game, trailing at halftime 23-18.

Despite cutting it to two immediately after halftime, the Redskins continued to be plagued by turnovers and the Storm continued to pile on the points. Providence took a 38-25 lead going into the fourth.

The Redskins couldn’t muster up enough offense or enough stops. Final Score: 47-31. The Redskins fall to 1-1 on the young season.

Social Circle scorers were led by freshmen center AJ Vinson (9), senior forward, CJ Branch-Johnson (8), sophomore guard KJ Reid (7), and sophomore forward Trey Douglas (6). Sophomore guard Tyrhell Branch had 1.

The Redskins take a week break before playing George Walton Academy next Saturday at Loganville High School in the Walton County Showcase.
