The Social Circle Redskins took care of the Union County Panthers in a physical region matchup Tuesday night. Leading by 11 at halftime, the Redskins were able to fight down the stretch to take the victory, 45-40.

The Redskins came out firing, with guards Amarion Russell and KJ Reid each with 4 points in the first, to take a 15 to 7 lead.

It was the Tyrhell Branch show in the second, however. The tough sophomore guard continued to shine, scoring 9 points with 2 threes. Social Circle took at 26-15 lead into the half.

The Panthers came out of halftime clawing, holding the Redskins to only 4 points, while pouring in 15 of their own. A once-seemingly insurmountable lead was now a tie game, 30-30.

The Redskins woke up in the fourth however. KJ Reid had 6 points, while Amarion Russell had 5. Social Circle would not be denied and took the 45 to 40 victory.

The Redskins are now 8-4, 3-0 in Region 8-AA, and sit tied atop the standings. Next game is at Stone Mountain High School, which will be rematch of a game that Social Circle won handily.
